Bug Description

On retail bq e4.5 phone running latest OTA.

At ~9:30 today I had a lockup which I believe was apport running after a unity8 crash.

-rw-r----- 1 phablet whoopsie 140K Apr 19 09:32 _usr_bin_unity8.32011.crash

(which wasn't uploaded so I just ran /usr/share/apport/whoopsie-upload-all to do that)

Crash is this one:- https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/76340f6c-e69e-11e4-9b04-fa163e4aaad4

Since then my battery has dropped catastrophically (see screenshot)

Looking at "top" on the phone, it seems telegram wasn't well:-

23394 phablet 20 0 363596 43472 22008 S 99.4 4.4 341:15.66 telegram

But I don't know if that's the cause of the battery drain or not.

It's also really hard to launch apps since unity8 died. Something has got messed up and I have to launch -> kill -> launch apps to get them to start. I fear a reboot is the only way to get back to sanity.

This is basically bug #1326513, apps get lost in the case unity8 crashes, and if it so happens that there was an app in the front, there's no saying what will happen.

It's still not clear what should happen... We could tell ubuntu-app-launch to kill all the apps when shell is lost, or when it's starting again...
