Bug Description
I was seeing numerous diags for bugs when running QtCreator, and reported one of them to qt.io.

TL;DR: Their take is that the version 3.5.1 that is loaded by Ubuntu is way too old to be maintained (it's from like 2012).
Consequently, the onus is on Ubuntu to adopt a newer version (they've released 4.6.0 and are testing up to 4.9.0) for installation with `apt install qtcreator`.
