Bug Description

clicking crtl+f11 or selecting tools>ubuntu>device control> enable platform tools does nothing on my device.

I am using Trusty on the device, 12.04 in PC, with QTCreator 2.8.1

if I then run manually from: /usr/share/qtcreator/ubuntu/scripts
./device_developertools_install <device_id>

then the platfrom tools are installed succesfully

Enabling the platform development on the device means that you turn your device into a native armhf builder and packaging machine. This is a feature for serious power users who need to create .deb packages of the lower level modules from source.

In the more recent releases I have put this feature one step back, not to be so visible, as it was causing confusion.

Most application developers do not need this feature.

The "Platform development" mode is moved to the "Advanced" tab of the device page and tested to be working.
