Bug Description

My computer is producing errors and segfaults when displaying an opengl widget in qt. I Installed and ran the demos from the qtdemo package, and many crashed (including at least one when compiled from source separately).

I don't know where the problem is coming from. When I run a program that uses a QGLWidget, sometimes/usually I get a message "unknown chip id 0x95c5, can't guess.".

I'm using xserver-xorg-video-radeon (Radeon HD 3450 graphics card), v6.12.1-0ubuntu2 and libqt4-opengl v4.5.0-0ubuntu4. I know the driver doesn't support hardware accelerated openGL, but I have a debian lenny install for reference, where everything qt-opengl seems to work "normally".
