I fixed the install by mv the current Trolltech.conf file to Trolltech.conf.bak and running apt-get -f install. After running apt-get Trolltech.conf does not exist so I don't know why it's complaining if it's not going to write anything.

ls /etc/xdg/
autostart menus sni-qt.conf systemd Thunar Trolltech.conf.bak tumbler user-dirs.conf user-dirs.defaults xdg-xubuntu xfce4

This happened when I tried to install git-cola

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 16.04 (xenial) reached end-of-life on April 29, 2021.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Hi Paul,

No, I'm on qt5 now, no problems. Please close.

Cheers,

Srdjan

Thanks for the reply srdjan.

As this bug report and all of its duplicates refer to Ubuntu 16.04, which is no longer supported, I'll close this as "Invalid". It may well have been fixed in that release but it's not worth the trouble to ascertain whether it was or not.
