QT3 libs don't set up the QTDIR variable

The radio automation software Rivendell (a QT3 open source application, see http://www.rivendellaudio.org ) does requires the QTDIR environment variable to be set in runtime. Unfortunelly, this variable is not set in the Ubuntu packages for QT3, making the application to misfunction. I have installed libqt3-mt, libqt3-headers, libqt3-compat-headers, libqt3-mt-dev, libqt3-mt-mysql, qt3-dev-tools, and QTDIR isn't set, as show by the printenv command.

The QTDIR environment variable is required to be set in the Qt3's installation (see the Trolltech's documentation at http://doc.trolltech.com/3.3/install-x11.html ), and the Qt3 packages in others distros (like SUSE and CentOS) set this variable properly (and Rivendell runs fine in those distros).

We wrote to the developers of Rivendell and they, after analyze the problem, suggest us to file a bug report in Ubuntu (see
http://groups.google.com/group/rivendell-programmer/browse_thread/thread/2f435f3efb3b1db8 ).

I forgot to add: the bug has been reported by many Ubuntu users, from 10.04 to 11.10, 32-but and 64-bit.
