QGIS / python crashes with a segfault

Binary package hint: qgis

When starting qgis it instantly crashes. here are some version information:

ii python2.6 2.6.2-0ubuntu1
ii qgis 1.2.0-1~jaunty1

A lot of python application crash on my system so it may be not a bug in gqis. However I', not sure about.

I'm closing all bugs against old versions of qgis or old versions of ubuntu. Feel free to reopen if this still occurs in recent versions.
