Upon starting qemulator, it tries to show available disk images, and then this warning about qemulator crashing shows up.
However, after dismissing, the GUI remains responsive.
I think it is related to mishandling of stale data. I had a number of disk images in /virt/qemu which I lost during a reinstallation. The other possibility might be version skew between the current version of qemulator and that running on Ubuntu 7.10.
