qemu v0.9.1 - Minix hangs on kernel load

The Minix kernel hangs upon loading in Hardy, both when booting from the CD image and from an installed image created with Gutsy. It runs fine in Gutsy, but alas, libvirt is significantly lacking in functionality in Gutsy, and my Gutsy machine isn't as powerful :(

Here is the qemu command line I'm using for both:

qemu -no-kqemu -localtime -net user -net nic -m 256 -cdrom /path/to/Minix3.1.2a-IDE.iso -hda minix.img -boot d

(With -boot c to boot from the image).

Attached is a screenshot of how far the loading process gets.

Exactly same problem here. Running AMD64. I have successfully ran it with Bochs, though, as a temporary workaround...

Still the same behavior in 8.04.1. AMD64 system, so I wonder if that's related.

I get the same behavior on an Intel (Thinkpad X60) with Hardy.

Still happens in 8.10, as of qemu=0.9.1-5ubuntu3 . Just checked with 3.1.2a ISO.

I can confirm it is reproducible in ubuntu 8.10, both ISO and ready-made image hangs like in the screenshoot (minix 3.1.2a).

reproduced on my thinkpad x31, ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04, with kqemu actived
solution for 9.04, not tested on 8.10:
use the -no-kqemu option to prevent qemu to use kqemu.
