IMHO We have three possible outcomes:
1. people actually use -sandbox in Bionic and verify -> SRU it
2. people actually use -sandbox in Bionic and found it broken -> good that we called for testing
3. people don't use it -> SRU it (not affecting a lot of people and fixing those who are unaware)

lets give this some time to generate feedback (or not)
