Bug Description

I am on Ubuntu12.04 64 bit updated to 14.4.2012.

I have just to continue a debian sid guest from saved state. That failed.

The guest was saved with qemu-kvm1...ubuntu11 and now I have tried to restart it with qemu-kvm1...ubuntu13, which may be has caused that trouble.

The kernel.log of the host shows not any speciall to me, but will be attached(also the syslog).

The guest shows an eroor screen with a stacktrace of the problem(sid has the kenrel 3.2.x in sid), which might be helpfull, but I can only attach it as screenshot.

The guest sends after 120 sec additional timeout(kernelhung) messages.

I have to give the additional information that a forces quit of the debian sid guest and a normal start after performs a normal boot of the guest.

So, it is only a problem with saved state guests and/or qemu-kvm updates of the host between saving and resuming a guest.

Thanks for reporting this bug.

Can you tell me exactly how you performed the save/restore?

If you used libvirt, can you also give me the guest xml?

Are you able to save/restore now, from/to the same kernel+qemu-kvm version?

Changed in qemu-kvm (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete
importance: Undecided → Medium

A:I have used virt-manager and with this the graphical option for save. Restoring is in virt-manager just starting the vm again.

Q:If you used libvirt, can you also give me the guest xml?

A:Yes, I attach it.

Q:Are you able to save/restore now, from/to the same kernel+qemu-kvm version?

A: After restarting the host the updated version works fine as far as I could saw at this thime. So it is only on the switch between the versions which makes problems for saved states from the old version.

I have clones here. I am relativly sure that it is this, but I attach also the second possible vm xml.
