Bug Description
The quantal archive currently has qemu-kvm 1.1-rc1 merged from Debian. This has a severe bug (1040033) which is fixed in 1.2. In addition, 1.2 is a stable branch, which will make future maintenance easier. It would be great if we could have 1.2 in the archive.

I am currently using 1.2 from https:/ /launchpad. net/~ubuntu- virt/+archive/ virt-daily- upstream/ +packages and it fixes bug #1040033 for me. I will continue to test it and report back any issues if I find them. Assuming testing shows it is ok, the security team would like to see 1.2 in the archive because as Serge said, 1.2 is a stable release and what we have in the archive now is not. It is my understanding there have been a lot of commits since 1.1rc and it is important for security maintenance of the package that we be on a stable release of qemu-kvm.
