qarecord not capturing audio

Bug Description

qarecord version 0.50.
qarecord no longer captures audio, in this case analogue external microphone.
reports unable to capture PCM
alsamixer controls work and have been tested with audacity, selecting capture device via alsamixer works correctly.
there is only one sound card, internal.

solved by updates to xubuntu 16.04 have corrected this issue
