more interesting numbers would be:

 - artful with -fno-PIE -no-pie for the static build
 - xenial with just no_fpic

the reason I'm asking for the latter is that you'll break a lot of packages, needing to rebuild

plus you would make every extension in PPA's and third party repositories unusable.
