upgrade to latest package causes items to not display on screen

Bug Description

After upgrading to the latest version of this package on multiple LTSP labs, certain python elements would not appear (even though they show in ps ).

The current version which works is python-xlib (0.14+20091101-1ubuntu2) and when upgrading to (0.14+20091101-1ubuntu3~trusty) I lose python elements after a log out and log in.

The primary element this occurs to is my menu (which is a python menu - mintmenu ). I have alerted the linux mint developers as well.
