Bug Description

Binary package hint: python-qt4-common

The package python-qt4-common is missing in karmic. It mainly provides the __init__.py files that describe the content of the modules in python-qt4. Without these files the pydev plugin (for eclipse) is no longer able to give autocompletion hints and even claims the used modules/classes to be nonexistent.
While the python programs using python-qt4 still run just fine, the programming of these is severly hampered in comparsion to the state in jaunty.
Is there a reason this package just vanished (or was obsoleted without a transitional dummy packge?) ?

As I found out by more trying and searching, the problem that classes are claimed nonexistent are not because of the files missing, but a bug in pylint with the qt bindings for version >= 4.5. The autocompletion of pydev can be brought to work again as described e.g. in http://www.saltycrane.com/blog/2007/06/how-to-get-code-completion-for-pyqt/ .
I beg your pardon for the static and set the status of the bug to invalid.
