Just tried to install it. and the error occured.

My install attempt appears to be calling for python2.5 I have versions 2.4, 2.5, 2.6 installed but 3.1 is the default python on my box. The whole MGLTools group is still looking for python2.5. I guess you could back up to python2.5 and get python-pmw to install.
