Binary package hint: python-gdata

Would it be possible to get an updated version of python-gdata in the repositories for jaunty?

The current version (1.1.1) was released in June 2008, and there have been some significant updates since then (current version is 1.2.3, released in December 2008 - which includes support for the Google Webmaster Tools API).

I can just download and run another version, but it would be nice to have it pre-packaged.

The packaging seems fine.

What about the changed md5sum? It does not seem you changed anything in the tarball itself - did you repack it?

I had to repack the tarball, because while Debian and we call the package python-gdata, upstream calls itself: gdata.py-1.2.4.tar.gz. That would explain the changed md5sum.

New diff using upstream orig tarball, and I've reuploaded to the dget'able link above.

The upstream tarball doesn't need to be repacked for this, just rename it. There isn't an updated .dsc, so I just took upstream's tarball and your diff.gz. Interdiff to current Jaunty version looks straightforward.

Did you test the totem plugins which use gdata?
