Version reported does not match package version (2.39 vs 2.45)

Bug Description
If you check the version of DistUtils in python it reports 2.39. Installed files also still have the 2.39 versioning. The current package version is 2.45.

Steps in terminal:
1) sudo apt install python3-
2) apt list python3-
3) python3
4) import DistUtilsExtra
5) DistUtilsExtra.
Also installed is:
/usr/lib/
And this file also reports 2.39:
/usr/lib/

I guess this is on either Ubuntu 20.10 or Hiruste, it would be nice to know the Ubuntu release you've found this issue in.
Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:
apport-collect 1919004
