python-click and python-colorama (runtime deps of flask):

python-colorama:
  - Cross-platform colored terminal text in Python
  - simple small python package
  - no open issues in Debian and Ubuntu
  - maintained by the DPMT
  - subscribed foundations to bug reports
  - builds both Python2 and Python3 modules
  - standard build system

python-click:
  - Simple wrapper around optparse for powerful command line utilities
  - simple small python package
  - no open issues in Debian and Ubuntu
  - maintained in Debian
  - subscribed foundations to bug reports
  - builds both Python2 and Python3 modules
  - standard build system

python-colorama looks good. No unit tests, but it has autopkg tests!
