Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I tried to upgrade to feisty from edgy using this command gksudo "update-manager -c -d". update-manager downloaded eveything in one go and started installing. When it reached python-uno package, it gave this error:

Despite the error, update-manager continued when I clicked on close.

EDIT: The update continued for a while but then stopped due to a similar error.
I did sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -f and got this error. Check the attachment

Can you please attach the files in /var/log/distupgrade also. There should be 3 of them.

Thanks,
John

ok...files are attached but I've got to say that I have continued upgrading through synaptic..fixing broken packages and then using update manager seemed to continue the upgrade.

Thanks for your bugreport and the log files!

I reassigned it to python-central as this is the failing package.

 Michael

did you modify the /usr/bin/python symlink to point to another python installation?

Thats fine, I think its been fixed anyway...It was just a problem with python-central that affected a lot of python applications but it's not a problem anyway.
