Failed to install python2.6-minimal while update to Lucid Lynx 10.04

Binary package hint: update-manager

The update-manager asked me to file a bug here. Unfortunatelly the error messages that update-manager gave me are in german:

 python2.6 hängt ab von python2.6-minimal (= 2.6.5-1ubuntu6); aber:
  Paket python2.6-minimal ist noch nicht konfiguriert.

Fehler traten auf beim Bearbeiten von:

It says that it cannot configure python2.6 because it depends on python2.6-minimal which isn't configured yet.

From the log files you attached in https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/108332/comments/10 this is a python installation error.

pycentral refuses to install packages over manually installed ones. This is reported in bug 291262 where a fix is documented.
I'm marking this report as duplicate.
