Repro Steps
--
1. Login to an Ubuntu Desktop (gnome).
2. Launch the Update Manager from the Gnome bar.
3. Start updates.

Expected Behavior
--
Complete updates errorlessly.

Actual Behavior
--
A notificatoin is shown in a box stating: "pycentral crashed with AttributeError in prepare()"
