The above error message reads in part:

python-qwt3d-qt4: Depends: libqwtplot3d-qt4 but it is not installable

and note below the package name was changed to "libqwtplot3d-qt4-0":

root@none:~ # apt-get install libqwtplot3d-qt4
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package libqwtplot3d-qt4 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
However the following packages replace it:
  libqwtplot3d-qt4-0

Besides being broken in Karmic AND Lucid, this package is in conflict with python-qwt5-qt4 and python-sip4 (qwt3d is often used together with qwt, and this is a real showstopper).

These dependencies are broken on 10.04 ,10.10 and 11.10. Only 11.04 is free of this problem.

Is there some guide how to fix dependencies on ubuntu?

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS at this date (20120130).

The package "python-qwt3d-qt4" depends on "libqwtplot3d-qt4", but the name
of this package was changed to "libqwtplot3d-qt4-0".

As there is no "libqwtplot3d-qt4" available, I can't install "python-qwt3d-qt4".

I can try to make a fake a package named "python-qwt3d-qt4" depending
on "python-qwt3d-qt4-0", install it and do not damage the package system,
but a version of "python-qwt3d-qt4" which depends on the right package
would be a lot better than this.

Thanks for you time.
