Bug Description

On cosmic amd64 or i386, as seen in autopkgtest environments, executing `python3 -c "import parted"` as a non-privileged user causes printing out the following two errors to stderr:

/sys/firmware/dmi/tables/smbios_entry_point: Permission denied
/dev/mem: Permission denied

I have not yet checked if this actually causes any real side-effects, but it does cause some autopkgtest failures due to ADT considering stderr output an error.

This was a parted bug, fixed there some time ago:

parted (3.3-4) unstable; urgency=medium

  * gptsync.patch: Silence stderr output from dmidecode, since only stdout
    is considered anyway (fixes
