Bug Description

Following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MainInclusionProcess and
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuMainInclusionRequirements

I have checked the following requirements:

Availability: the package is available in Debian and Ubuntu 15.10 and builds
for every architecture

Rationale: The package is an upcoming new dependency for a package already in main, checkbox (checkbox-converged will soon replace checkbox-gui)

Security: No known security issues.
A team of people supports the package so any discovered issues can be
addressed quickly.

Quality assurance: The package is maintained in Debian and Ubuntu
and has no outstanding bugs reported there. The package is used daily without
major issues (from a development PPA, ppa:checkbox-dev/ppa).
The package uses debian/watch file to track new releases.

UI standards: NA

Dependencies: All in main.

Standards compliance: The package is standards compliant.

Maintenance: The package is maintained by the Debian Python Modules Team in
Debian. There is no Ubuntu/Debian delta now nor can the reporter imagine a
reason why that should ever change.

Background information: the package description contains extensive
description of the purpose and scope of the package. This package was not
renamed recently, or at all.

FWIW it would be nice if we can get http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/python-modules/packages/pyotherside.git/commit/?id=0e145b47759ea8bd into Xenial, or otherwise we'll have to ship the transitional package until 18.04.

I'm following up with Zygmunt (zyga) who already did the packaging update in debian. We'll prepare an RFS to land 1.4.0-2 asap in debian so that the same version can go in Ubuntu automatically before freeze (thus fixing the issue).

Regarding the MIR, it can go through so we unblock the image builds.

I can sponsor it in Debian.

Actually I have sent Zygmunt a review of this package last week (attaching here too), and it would be nice if some of the issues are fixed too in the new upload (at least the wrong Multi-Arch value for pyotherside-examples package).

@Dmitry,

I've updated packaging based on your review.
The new commits are here: https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/python-modules/packages/pyotherside.git
And the new version (waiting a sponsor review) is pyotherside 1.4.0-2
I'm attaching my sbuild log output

Alright; my only concern is that there doesn't seem to be many developers who have upload rights to that package, but the checkbox team is already quite familiar with requesting sponsoring for their uploads for checkbox itself, it won't be much different for pyotherside.

The new version 1.4.0-2~fakesync2 passed autopkgtest (which were failing with ~fakesync2). The package is ready to be transferred into main.
