Bug Description

Pulseaudio doesn't find any sound cards, resulting with no sound. After killing the daemon by killall pulseaudio -9 and restarting it as root by puslseaudio --system, everything starts working fine.

On SOME sessions it does start, on some it doesn't. It's very hard to reproduce this. I am using Sound Blaster Live card.

I would rather give this "High" importance, because I have to restart my computer few times in order t get sound.

Without sound, ANY application that tries to use sound HANGS. This means, that opening Firefox or Thunderbird fails. Yes, I am NOT able to do ANYTHING when I have no sound in Ubuntu. I cannot even open GEdit, because it simply hangs. Killing pulseaudio unhangs everything.

This bugs makes Ubuntu unusable to do actually ANYTHING. I can only browser files, I cannot open ANY application.

This is a bug in Pulseaudio or any daemon that tries to start it, because removing Pulse makes everything work fine. But - I don't have the sound indicator anymore.
