Bug Description

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

PulseAudio just stopped outputting sound roght out of the blue as I was playing a game against a fridend and talking to him over skype. Suddenly the sound cut out completely. Now not even PulseAudio's builtin test thing on the hardware tab seems to be able to make any sound come out of my speakers.

Running Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty).

Just thought I'd add that audio input seeems to be working just fine, my friend can still hear me over skype but I can't hear him. However the sound input is a different hardware device, I'm using a guitar hero usb mic actually.

Apparently it didn't lose output, it muted itself for no reason whatsoever. That's happened a couple of times now and seems to be a bug worth fixing. Also, pulseaudio keeps losing my input settings every time I reboot. I think this might even happen whein I resume after suspending. A bit annoying as I have to keep changing that to use the usb mic instead of the soundcard over and over.
