Binary package hint: pulseaudio

Keeps happening -- audio works well for a time, and then goes to lunch. Not sure what the trigger is yet. Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit.

Have been logging for a few days based on the request above, but haven't had the problem crop up (naturally...). Will keep trying a while longer.

FWIW, I've had to "cure" the problem each time it's happened (4 or 5 times in a few weeks running Ubuntu on this box) by deleting ~/.pulse and ~/.pulse-cookie and rebooting (based on a suggestion from somewhere on the interwebs -- I don't believe rebooting alone fixed the issue, but will confirm when/if it happens again).

You might be suffering from bug 644644 which seems to be the most common crash cause.

Just wanted to update -- have still not been able to catch this bug with the verbose logging on for the past few days. Going to shut off logging and see if it returns. If not, I'll plan to close this issue until (when/if) the problem returns. I'm very grateful for the quick responses and suggestions -- thank you.

Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) reached end-of-life on April 10, 2012.

We appreciate that this bug may be old and you might not be interested in discussing it any more. But if you are then please upgrade to the latest Ubuntu version and re-test.
