Bug Description

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

For the past two days or so, my AudioHub is missing from the PulseAudio applet's Volume Control section and audio plays though the laptop speakers.

This only after the laptop 'wakes' from an auto suspend after its programmed 2 hours of inactivity. Previously, the sound defaulted to the internal speakers after waking, but it was possible to re-select the AudioHub via the Volume control.

The only way to re-enable the AudioHub is to reboot. Lgging out and in does nothing.

I am not convinced this is a pulse issue. Please reproduce this symptom with 2.6.32-17.26-generic (the latest kernel in Lucid).

I switch back and forth from the main server to the default server for Canada. I've used the 'select best server' as well, but there are often missing updated on smaller servers.

I have all the recent updates, including -17.26. The problem persists.

Suspend and shutdown are serious issues in Lucid, at least for me. Both my desktop and laptop won't shut down in Lucid mode, for one. I have to reboot into Karmic and can then shut down.

17.26 is outdated, but I don't think 18.27 affects your symptom. I'm
quite pressed for time currently, sorry.

Pardon the error - I am running 2.6.32-18-generic (#27-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 26 19:51:10 UTC 2010). My day job keeps me busy as well.

All said, the problem persists as of today with -18 27.

I don't write and the problem goes away? Hardly - it affects Maverick as well.

I'm reviving the bug as it isn't solved. About half the time after suspending, my AudioHub is not in the Volume Manager.
