Is there any released deb file around? It'd love to have it for my ubuntu 9.10. (on kernel 31-14 I have no issue)

ok, read other bugs reports and workaround "Next workaround: Set DONTSTART to "1" in /etc/default/slmodemd" worked for me.
I have removed sl-modem via apt. Do I need it install it back on?
