Bug Description
Binary package hint: pulseaudio
Steps to reproduce:
- Start Ubuntu Jaunty, listen to startup sound
- Alternatives: play any sound while moving the mouse or giving the cpu some work (e.g. md5sum /dev/urandom)
Result:
Crackling noise, audio is not played "cleanly"
Further information:
- after pkilling pulseaudio, the problem disappears.
- worked well in intrepid and before.
- Hardware information: Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-
(see attached lspci -v) on Thinkpad T42
This is not related to problems with incorrectly set output levels - I checked them.
