2009-01-12 16:47:12 Daniel T Chen pulseaudio: statusexplanation The current jaunty pulseaudio package prefers mixer elements with selection and volume. Can you reproduce on current daily-live? (Anyone can set Status, BTW, so please don't block on me, as I have only intermittent Internet access at work. The status was set to Incomplete, because I'm seeking feedback. The symptom, however, is confirmed, so I've set the status appropriately. The importance is set to Low, because there is an extant workaround.) samjh, I was not referring to the GUI. I was referring to the actual mixer control code in pulseaudio (see http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-core-dev/pulseaudio/ubuntu/annotate/32?file_id=0028_prefer_mixer_co-20090109000236-vgz3cx55d7bjrvf8-1). Yes, the UI changes arguably constitute a regression from intrepid. Hence, I'm asking for testers of the current daily-live cd (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/) to see if the symptom is reproducible in a default boot into the live cd desktop.
