Bug Description

I have got a M-AUDIO Audiophile 2496 soundcard ( http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Audiophile2496.html ) and I don't have sound with PulseAudio.
After uninstall PulseAudio, no problem.

same here, Sound works when i enter gdm because it doesn't use pulse, if i kill pulse i can get sound using only alsa. I tried upgrading to 9.13 from the default 9.10 and it would work under failsafe gnome but errors at login under default gnome complaining about "pulse-session." I have followed the guides to get pulseaudio working perfect and have had it working in the past on alpha-beta builds of 8.10 but no luck on the fresh install. My understanding is that because this card does not have a PCM control it confuses pulse. Editing the default.pa file doesn't seem to be noticed when changed to use m2496. changing the sink under padevchoser to m2496 or the device_id provided by the working 9.13 just crashes 9.10. asoundconf changes also dont help, alsa is perfect but there is something going on with pa9.10.

side note, when i plug a uvc webcam in pulse will recognize it and try to use the mic as the default sound card but will not acknowledge m2496. suggestions?
