Bug Description

Binary package hint: pulseaudio

I have two sound cards on my system, the onboard card of my mainboard (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3) which is used as the normal playback device, and an older Soundblaster Live Value that I am using for Skype and such things.

On Hardy, it was rather easy to configure the default card for pulseaudio. I had to do the following:

- Install pavucontrol
- Launch it, go to output devices and correct the default card setting (if the Soundblaster was set as default)
- Log out and log in again.

Now I tried the same way on a fresh Intrepid (amd64) installation, but it doesn't work any more. If I log out and log in again, the default card is still the Soundblaster, allthough I had explicitly selected the Onboard card before! This has a rather serious inpact for me, because that means that I have no sound if I don't use my headset.

Kind regards,
Jan

pavucontrol/padevchooser are deprecated in jaunty. Use the Volume Control.
