Bug Description

When playing back music in rhythmbox it will stop playing back music and start seeking through tracks with no audio then crash somewhere during the first cd I play. It seems that rhythmbox is killing pulseaudio; I can restart pulse from the command line but not from the gui manager.

when I rerun pulse audio it will start but I get these complaints:
"#:~$ pulseaudio

When it says "N: module-alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 5.99 ms" the audio will skip and increase the ms.

I am using an m-audio 24/96 card with pulseaudio-0.9.13-0ubuntu1~ppa2 on Intrepid Ibex.
everything is updated as of Oct 15th.
I will also note that Rhythmbox didn't do this before the update.

Yes anytime i start rhythmbox and let it play it will crash within one cds
play time. I can reproduce this as many times as possible, it happens
anytime i use rhythmbox after the last pulseaudio update. I think it was a
day or two ago. But i listed the version number of pulse I am using.

If there is some specific information you would like me to gather just let
me know.

ok so I tried using exaile instead of rhythmbox and it seems to do the same thing. I'm not sure if this is a gstreamer issue or pulseaudio but its easy to reproduce on my system.

in intrepid, i stream my sound from my laptop to my desktop correctly
since jaunty, after few seconds stream, pulseaudio crashes just after send these messages :

module-alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 29,93 ms
module-alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 59,86 ms
module-alsa-sink.c: Increasing wakeup watermark to 80,00 ms

note : I send the output strem on my SPDIF output, so I add this parameter to default.pa :

load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:0,4 rate=44100

You should disable glitch-free. See load-module module-hal-detect
tsched=0 in /etc/pulse/default.pa.

You should also test the kernels at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~dtchen/

For system wide effect, you should modify "load-module module-hal-detect tsched=0" in /etc/pulse/system.pa too. After i modified, my pulseaudio run fine.
