Same problem here (line in mic):
ChipTyp: HDA-Intel - HDA VIA VT82xx
CodecTyp: VIA VIA VT1708
It`s already bad in Hardy (silent with scratchy background noise) but it got worse in Intrepid. It`s nearly impossible to hear voice after recording and it doesn`t work in Skype or Audacity either.
