I can confirm this bug. I get exactly the same problem. I have discovered that if you run pulseaudio from the command line without the -D option to daemonize it it will output "Soft CPU time limit exhausted, terminating." on crashing. Running pulseaudio with the -vv option leads to the repeated printing of "D: module-alsa-sink.c: EAGAIN" in the terminal while the music is paused however running with this option pulseaudio seems to hang rather than exit completely.
