Output from alsa-info.sh script as supplied at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems - I know this is for ALSA, but I though some of it might help.

If there is anything else I could provide which might help, please let me know.

I see this issue in Intrepid Ibex with an Eee PC 901 (also intel sound). I also seem to get (rare) intermittent crackling when not in mute.

I'm having this same issue in Intrepid, the sound is good but when muted it crackles. I've noticed this since a few days.

Also having this same issue in Intrepid. The sound is good but when i mute the system, I hear crackling noises coming out of speakers. I havent changed any sound options or anything(I upgraded from hardy and everything worked perfectly , no crackling sounds when muted).
