Bug Description
The bluetooth drivers that come with Ubuntu have very poor audio quality which are not suitable for playing music.
Apparently thousands of people on stackoverflow have the exact same problem:

A2DP was not an option for the WH-1000XM4 bluetooth headphones, so the first upvoted answer should absolutely be the default for people who have A2DP - but that won't fix this exact ticket.
Sony devices and other high end Bluetooth audio devices would greatly benefit from having pulse audio installed and enabled by default:
