Does installing libasound2-plugins fix it for you (bug 198032)?

Just noticed no other sound at all can be played while it is playing. Totem and rhythmbox don't even start playing a song, they are stuck at 0:00.

Applications that use alsa for playback are able to play sound at the same time.

It seems that music from alsa and non-alsa using programs doesn't mix. When I am playing a youtube video and then try playing an mp3 file with mplayer, I get this error:

Please install libflashsupport, or (in 8.10) use asoundconf set-pulseaudio after installing libasound2-plugins, then restart all audio devices.
