Confirmed, but it looks like it doesn't happen very often (only on startup?). And it also looks like the missing "ofono" packages are in universe, so not something was can install by default with pulseaudio.

The ofono support is core to pulseaudio and not something we have accidentally configured in just for Ubuntu. It's also probably not something we should explicitly configure out.

I think the error message is a valid warning, but something most people should ignore. Only people who actually intend for ofono support should pay attention to it.

I installed the "ofono" package because it wasn't installed by default on Linux Mint 19.1 XFCE. And now I don't see an error message anymore. Thanks, Daniel van Vugt.

The resolution makes me chuckle. If this is a warning or an error in my system log it means I need to pay attention to it. Otherwise the log entry should not be a warning or at least it should have verbiage hinting this is not really a warning for me (it even sounds oxymoron :D )

As a side note, if a project emits too many warnings that need to be ignored this leads to developers also ignoring or missing important and relevant warnings that otherwise would be noticed. It is a bad practice to leave warnings that can be ignored; its also often a sign that the project needs more attention or lacks competent supervision.

I agree, but we're not the developers of PulseAudio and we have thousands of software packages to get into Ubuntu... Polishing each one to reduce log noise is not usually something we have time to do.
