Bug Description
Microphone is not working on ASUS X552L laptop.
Just installed latest ubuntu version 16.04 LTS
After installed Skype, tried a test call, sound was very low volume. Tried to adjust microphone volume with the slider, mic went dead for good, no sound at all. tried to reinstall alsa package
apt-get remove --purge alsa-base pulseaudio
and install it again, nothing works.
Did not work on older ubuntu version either.

@Mihaly, Do you by chance have pci=nomsi set as a boot option? I have this issue on my ASUS X555UB and the only way it will boot is with that option. I don't know if it is related but just in case... Thanks.
