Bug Description
I have a Thinkpad Helix, which I dual boot with Windows 8.x and Ubuntu.
The audio volume in Ubuntu is low, compared to Windows, even when the device output is set on 100%.
For example, when I watch something, on VLC, I can increase both the VLC volume and the device output to more than 100%, say 130% each; in this case, I reach a volume comparable to Windows, but in this case is clipped.

you have to file upstream bug report since alc269vb codec use secert coef to increase pre-amp output and only the expert know whether your alc269vc have this capability or not
do you find any special registry entry about the pre-amp in windows registry ?
