usb mic stops after few seconds

Logitech AK5370 USB microphone works for a few seconds, then go mute, as seen from PAVU.

Unplugging and repluging will cause the mic to be recognized again for a few seconds.

This is new behavior, although I recall similar problem years ago.

Started working again after a few updates, just like last time. Only a few weeks this time, not months like last time.

do you mean that when mic lost when user select monitor ?

To reproduce:
① Plug in USB mic (AK5370) unmuted at mic
② Select Input devices tab on Volume control (PAVC).
③ Observe volume bar for mic move for a few seconds in response to audible input, then stops.

Other: mic is used exclusively for Skype. Fortunately the computer also boots Win7x64 so I did not lose the ability to use Skype.
