Replugging a Usb headphone does not restore the previous output and level

Bug Description

ubuntu 12.04.2 (Upgraded from ubuntu 12.04.1 )

How to reproduce the problem:

- Plug a USB headset, select it in the sound prefs and set the volume.

- Unplug/replug the headset

- Open the sound preferences : the headset is not selected but the sound is output through the usb headset at maximum volume.

This killed my ears several times, I'm almost deaf now ....

you have to dump pulseaudio database to find out whether the volume have been stored after each adjustment

Hi Raymond, could you at least confirm the Bug please ?

It's not only a problem of storing the level, the USB headphone is getting sound without being selected in the ubuntu sound Panel.

you have to check whether pulseaudio save the volume before you unpluged your usb headsset

post the output of alsa-info.sh or dump pulseaudio database when you plugged, unplugged and replugged

to find out alsa save the setting or pulseaudio save the setting

Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) reached end-of-life on April 28, 2017.

Actually upstream says it was fixed a while ago.
