Apparently this specific bug doesn't happen in Debian's packaging of proot: https://packages.debian.org/stretch/amd64/proot

This was tested on this project: https://github.com/ClarityCafe/hyperwine/

Debian Stretch was able to execute the proot function of build.sh but not Ubuntu Xenial

Hey Lucas,

This seems to work on the Debian package, so I think we should look at their patches to see if we can upstream it to Ubuntu as well.

Hi Ralph,

We've actually done two releases since the last time this bug was updated.

Please test again and see if you're still running into this issue:
- https://github.com/proot-me/proot/releases/tag/v5.3.0

I need to get in touch with launchpad support to get access to update the Ubuntu package with the latest changes.
