The bug appeared while I was playing Progress Quest. It is a freeware game that is available from http://progressquest.com/ The bug doesn't seem to appear with newly started games. In the older game where it appears, it seems to appear every time. Even after saving and reloading the game.

Are you using native comctl32.dll by any chance?

I have a file called ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/comctl32.dll

Does this imply that 1) it is native 2) I'm using it?

I did "chmod a-rwx on that file, but the problem did not go away.

Hi, Toni.

Try 'winetricks cc580' to install native override and report back.

No update from OP for three years. Is this still an issue in 1.5.4 or should this be closed as abandoned ?

Seems to have been fixed. I'll leave it running for a week (to get a screen full like in the screenshot) and report later.

No problems after 5 days running, I tried closing and reopening a few times now that I'm an experienced player. Assuming fixed, if anyone else can still reproduce feel free to reopen.
