Bug Description

Binary package hint: pppoeconf

I have a PPPoE connection. I use a PC and a Laptop (There is no network between them) equipped both of them with Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope 9.04 , and I have a 3rd PC equipped with WIndows XP SP2.

When I connect with my PC and finish with it I switch it off . When I plug the modem and run the Laptop, I try to connect with it, but it doesn't connect until I reconfigure my connection using "sudo pppoeconf".

The same thing happens when I shut the Laptop and switch to the big PC, it doesn't want to connect until I reconfigure the connection using the same previous command.

This problem doesn't happen always when I use the connection under just one of them , and when I switch from Linux to Windows or vice-versa.

This is illogic !! but I didn't suffer from this under Interpid.

Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope has not been supported since April 2009. Does this bug still occur with a currently supported release of Ubuntu like Lucid, Maverick, or Natty? Or, even better, can anyone who currently experiences this problem test for it on Oneiric (the development branch)?

If no one can produce this bug in a currently supported release or in Oneiric, then the bug can be marked Invalid now that Jaunty is no longer supported.

As a correction, Jaunty certainly has been supported after April 2009 (since that's when it was released!)--I meant to say that, since it was a non-LTS release in April 2009, its support lapsed in October of 2010, and is thus now unsupported.
