Werner, could you explain why we need a new package instead of adding the patches to the current ppp package?

Whoopie, adding to the current ppp package would be an even better solution. In fact there is no need for a new package, guess I did some thing wrong when opening tis bug.

I built a native ppp package with your patches in my testing PPA.

I had to fix the EAP-TLS patch to work if EAP-TLS is disabled. I've already sent this patch "upstream".

Could you maybe do the same with your patches like fix-missing-ssl-op-no-ticket.patch and add-chap-passwd-hook.patch?

Is there are any change we get eaptls support in Ubuntu like it done in other distros already (like Fedora) ?
